    There’s loads of stuff you could read and it’s not all useful. So we’ve done the leg work and recommend these simple steps to get you started with reducing your carbon footprint.

  • Learn more.

    Before you leap into action take time to learn more about the nature and climate emergency. It will save you time later on and help you make good decisions about which actions to take.

  • Get carbon Literate.

    Carbon Literacy training explains the climate and ecological emergency in every-day language. When staff share a common understanding and language it makes collaboration and problem solving easier. To get started book Carbon Literacy Training.

  • Peer mentoring.

    Change is hard! But working with peers facing the same challenges accelerates progress. It’s like crowd-sourcing ideas, contacts, knowledge and support.

    Meet regularly with others in your and other sectors, with customers and suppliers.

  • Make a commitment.

    Make a public commitmet! Sign a pledge to reduce your carbon footprint. Attend Carbon Literacy Training.

    Add these credentials to your marketing materials to tell others about your actions. Talk to others and encourage them to follow your lead.

  • Take action.

    Start small and expect modest results. Each step is an experiment and you will learn as you go. Mistakes, set-backs and frustrations are par for the course. Celebrate progress!

  • Carbon footprint?

    Not all enterprises need to do a carbon footprint exercise. It depends on the size and complexity of your business. Output is lots of data which can help with decision making and action planning.

  • Create a plan.

    When you have done as many ‘no brainers’ as you can, got some training, read a few articles and watched some videos, it is time to write a modest plan.
